FAQs

Q. What is an Accredited Practising Dietitian?

A. Accredited Practising Dietitians (APD) are university-qualified professionals that undertake ongoing training and education programs to ensure that they are your most up-to-date and credible source of nutrition information. They translate scientific health and nutrition information into practical advice, and practise in line with DAA Professional Standards, including the DAA Code of Professional Conduct and Statement of Ethical Practice

Q. Which appointment type is best for me?

A. Have a look at our services list and if you’re still unsure as to which appointment to book in for, email us! We will be able to guide you based on what you’re seeing us for and what you’re hoping to get out of your appointment.

Q. I have a Chronic Disease Management Plan (formerly known as Enhanced Primary Care or EPC) will my appointment be for free?

A. A Chronic Disease Management Plan means you could qualify for a Medicare rebate on up to 5 sessions per year (depending on the referral). This is a rebate which means a portion of your appointment fee is paid by the government, however this doesn’t cover the whole appointment fee.

Q. I have Private Health Insurance, will I get some money back?

A. Majority of Private Health Insurances offer a rebate for Dietitian Services, we have HICAPS available through our online service so if you are eligible for a rebate we can process it for you. It’s best to contact your Insurer to confirm based on the type of cover you have as to whether you will be covered.

Q. I would like to organise specialised healthy eating education sessions at my workplace, how do I arrange this?

A. Email us! We’d love to hear what you’re looking for and how Frawley Nutrition can assist.
